SF Ballet 2014 LGBT Nite Out Season includes:

January 31, 2014: Giselle

One of the greatest romantic ballets in the classical repertory, Giselle takes audiences on an unforgettable journey from joyous celebrations in a Rhineland village to a lush forest glade, where the spirits of young maidens spend eternity dancing away each night until dawn.

April 4, 2014: Program 6

Don’t miss the newest work by Helgi Tomasson, who has created over 40 works for the Company since becoming Artistic Director & Principal Choreographer in 1985. The program continues with the 20th anniversary presentation of Maelstrom, the first work created for SF Ballet by Mark Morris, and Yuri Possokhov’s The Rite of Spring, a gripping interpretation of Stravinsky’s masterwork.

May 9, 2014: Program 8

A collaboration with composer Igor Stravinsky, Agon is a Balanchine classic: a postmodern masterpiece showcasing the human body, while Balanchine’s Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet reveals a full range of choreographic styles and musical flavors. The program concludes with Robbins’ Glass Pieces. Set to a throbbing score by Philip Glass, Glass Pieces is a heart-stopping work pulsing with the energy of the city.
